@187prettyboy No, I'm saying his overall midfield skills are not near the top players, but his ability to convert on PKs and free kicks were a potential advantage to his team. The skills I listed were only an example of some of those skills, not my sole qualm with Beckham. Honestly, even the English commentators admitted as much.
@dan11009 I'm not talking about trick shots. I mean ball control and ability to get past defenders. I'm just saying his midfield skills beyond placing the ball aren't legendary, that's all. I'm saying that his ability to place the ball is so great, that it supercedes his weaknesses on the field and that's why he's had a lasting career.
@dan11009 He can place the ball, but his ball skills aren't that great compared to everyone else, in my opinion. A great player, but not one of the greatest of all time. Anyways. Happy tonight. Cuz the Heat lost.
@udasan I've watched him in the Premier League and on the English National team. And as I've already pointed out, I'm talking about how good of a player he has been RECENTLY. Not his whole career. Yes, once he was a good player. An above average and valuable player and possibly one of the best. But he's still overrated. Anyone who knows soccer (even commentators) say that his midfield abilities are not spectacular but he is kept on the field on the chance that they will be awarded a PK or FK.
@obiwannotanikan You've never watch MLS games let alone ALL of his games in EPL or outside of it. Yet you talk shit about him. You're saying he was NEVER been considered in top 5 players in the world? Where were you when FIFA announced him TWICE as Runner Up for FIFA Player of the Year, when he won Club Player of the Year above anyone else in the world/Europe in 1999, and when Pele put him in 100 list, being above than 40 at that? You don't know a shit about this game or HIS game at all.

@obiwannotanikan Yeah, what you mean to say, is that he is a legendary striker of the football, but not a legendary dribbler of the football.

@obiwannotanikan But there not paying him for ball skills and trick shots - they just want him to cross the ball to players and take the free kicks

@TheArabeast Yes, and I'm saying he's over-rated. Not that he's not a good player, but not the best in the world.
