  • Fantastic! Great promo for Zumba!

But....where is this information of burning 500 to 900 calories coming from? We have to be very careful with the accuracy of the information given out - I have never heard of such claims, (900?) We must keep the integrity of Zumba by being accurate!

  • Prior to my newspaper and television interviews, I read many of the articles posted on the zumba website. The calorie range I gave is cited in MANY of those publications. I would recommend reading them before suggesting I am jeopardizing the integrity of zumba or making in inaccurate claim. Further, my class is very intense cardio, and my students' heart rate monitors support this statement.

  • I stand by my comments and information! I was not criticizing Becca's abilities as an instructor (would never dare to that sort of put down - by the way those who teach Gold could take your comments as a put down! we are a Zumba family! - I was merely commenting on one piece of information! Lighten up Lil!

  • Good Job Girl Zumba Represent!

  • It really doesnt matter what that article says because everyone is different and cant be spoken for. I have had a couple of students in my class to reach the 1000 calorie burning point not just once but a few times. Depending on the person it is possible. My class takes Zumba to a whole nother level. Maybe you would see these types of results if you were a little more intense in ur class instead of teaching Gold. Congrad's Becca! ! !

  • The following appeared in a sports medicine article: There are many variables taken into account when calculating calories! - based on a weight of 130lbs, the following exercises 1 hr. duration (with an accuracy of 87%) burn an average of 900 calories: Bicycling, >20mph, racing non-stop; Rope jumping, fast for an hour non stop; Running,10 mph(6 min mile) etc. As you see it takes very vigorous and continued sustained movement in order to burn that amount of calories! Hope this was helpful

  • So cute! Good Representation!

  • Good job Rebecca!

  • Congratulations Rebecca! Looks like Charlie got owned. ;)

  • So cool!! You go Rebecca!
