Propagandhi are, as always: Chris, John and Jord. Recorded on 4 tracks on the 3rd floor of 701. Spoken word adapted (without permission, but with mucho respect) from "June 78" a poem by Karen Brodine, from her book "Illegal Assembly" (Hanging Loose Press), and read by our friend Lorna Jane Vetters. Destroy Sexism Destroy Capitalism Fuck off to the Dwarves
Takes a dried up ballpoint, lemon juice and water, keeps diary invisibly. In the kitchen corner of a basement bachelor suite, there's a certain search for certainty, you know we'll never see her hands touch her childhood home in photos that she took. It's one more omission from a highschool history book; how whole lives are knifed and pushed aside. To whom it may concern...this is to inform...yours, sincerly yours... There's a bus that's leaving half an hour from now. It won't take her where she really wants to go. So she sits there with her luggage at her side. In the empty stations of our empty lives.
Take a broken bottle, take a rafter beam, or take a needle and a tarnished spoon. All just words to kill off one more unheard statement in another dying afternoon; she says she's leaving soon. So so long to ten hour shifts and faking sympathies. Farewell to piles of bills, unpaid utilities. All rolled up and unfurled like a flag. Wake up and pack your bag...
"It's like being sick all the time, I think, coming home from work, sick in that low-grade continuous way that makes you forget what it's like to be well. We have never in our lives known what it is to be well. what if I were coming home, I think, from doing work that I loved and that was for us all, what if I looked at the houses and the air and the streets, knowing they were in accord, not set against us, what if we knew the powers of this country moved to provide for us and for all people, how would that be, how would we feel and think and what would we create?"

I've been looking for this for a bit. I just ripped the audio off of your video, but am sure that the mp3 would be better quality. If I could have it, I'd be indebted to you. I'm a large John K Samson fan. Thank you very much for putting this up here for every one. Great song. I think that I like this version better than the one on Fallow.
So there's some BLOOD POSITIVE here with John? If you listened to the song and not just the lyrics you'd see where "Progressive Thrash" comes in. I never said this was a pop song. I'd suggest you listen to Black Cactus Killers or shut up already. I never said this was a folk song either. This is certainly distinguished from the Weakerthans, I heard it within a year of it's release, this version. Commemoratively, Propagandhi was progressive as a thrash band when John slung his bass & lent an ear.
I stated how this could potentially be a means of communication to Chris Hannah, YEAH. By the way the blood of Christ is on your hands for calling me "sore" about this, sinner. Heathen surely I did mention something you derived this from. SO, WHO are YOU? Thoth? Enoch? Hermes Trismegistus? Try confusing THAT, YOURSELF.
All rolled up and unfurled like a flag, wake up and pack your bag. On my peak I got the rapid eye movement contact. That's the greatest song ever created. Play some empathy and say I smoked you. He hasn't smoked you yet. Listens to some Propagandhi. He looks at his guitar and says I'm about to smoke with you.
I really do love this song, I just wish sandihume had at least used a picture of propagandhi with John, instead of a newer pic with Todd... After all it's only John on this song (no Jordi, no Chris)
I am saying this string of messages starting with the first here and lessening gradually into virtual oblivion serve a purpose, to communicate an all purpose message to Chris Hannah about the sound of the band he writes songs for, and that they only kind of suck now in comparison because he is trying to prove how metal they were as a punk band initially after thrash has become the latest trend due to MySpace's representation of it compared to "breakcore", etc.
sure, you can talk to a celebrity through one of their representations online just so provided they find your memo. hnmm? Propagandhi flexed metal roots with Todd and the Beav or whoever, and their pop songs were always harder anyway than the more full hardcore instrumentation. sorry, yes including "gifts".
