That's your opinion. I think both have their own tonal qualies. Picks really help out bringing out the tone of the bass and give a sharper, punchier tone, that really helps you cut through more. Fingers are much more bassier, round sounding. I prefer fingers, but if I'm playing a song where the bassists uses a pick I'll use one, or I'm making my own song that uses a lot of harmonics and chords, I'll use a pick if it sounds better. This song sounds way better with a pick, gives it a nice tone.

No. just cause Joe Principe uses a pick doesn't mean it sounds better that way. there's always room for improvement.
still, weather or not it sounds better with or without a pick is an opinion.
