2007-08 models mfg. after Aug. 2006
SIDE IMPACT TEST WITH STANDARD SIDE AIRBAGS

OVERALL EVALUATION: Acceptable
Injury measures Head protection Structure/safety cage
Head/neck Torso Pelvis/leg
Driver Good Acceptable Poor Good Acceptable
Rear passenger Good Good Good Good

Important: Side impact crash test ratings can be compared across vehicle type and weight categories.
Test details:

The Cadillac STS was introduced in the 2005 model year as a replacement for the Seville. Beginning with 2007 models built after August 2006, the B-pillars were reinforced and the front door trim panels and side torso airbags were changed to improve occupant protection in side-impact crashes (note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door). The tested car was manufactured after the modifications had been made.
Injury measures:

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate that a fracture of the pelvis would be likely in a crash of this severity. Rib fractures and/or internal organ injuries would also be possible.

Rear passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection:

Driver — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof and a side airbag that deployed from the seat.

Rear passenger — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

  • the 2005-present Cadillac STS is assembled in

    Lansing, Michigan, United States

    Shanghai, China

    Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia

  • @STIRKDAWG Look dipshit. I posted that Over two years ago. In fact almost 3. Back then the ONLY vehicle that was a top safety pick that you've cleverly listed for me was the Malibu, the CTS was acceptable for rear crashes back then. Obviously now things have changed, Honda is falling back, while GM is now tied for second with Ford as the safest auto manufacturer.. thats numbers wise, Even though Ford has something like Half the models that GM has.

  • @USFCARTWRIGHT YOU STUPID FUCK. Have you ever heard of Malibu, Silverado, or CTS? They're all award winners. Pick up a MOTORTREND magazine and learn to read with it.

  • Too bad the sts did even worse in the rear crash protection

  • Yeah, man, you're right. And JD Power rates Honda higher than most GM brands

  • That is your pure opinion.

  • give out my "opinion" these are facts.. and whether you realize it or not. I wrote something here before you, so why dont YOU go give out your "opinions" on some other video. because while you have opinions, i have facts. now because i cant give you a link to this, you actually spend 5 minutes and go searching.

  • Give out your opinion somewhere else
