A book for tweens written by K.D. McCrite and part of the Confessions of April Grace series. K.D. McCrite, a native of the Ozarks, lives in Arkansas with her husband and pets, writing about a range of topics.

A feisty redhead, April Grace usually speaks before she thinks and gets herself into trouble more often than not. But in the summer of 1986, her keen eyes saw what the adults did not: mischief, mayhem, thievery and lyin', cheatin', dirty-stinkin' rotten ole cowboys.

Children will love the 11-going-on-12-years-old's sassy observations and spunky deeds. They will empathize with April Grace and cheer her efforts. The lesson that snap judgments and stereotypes are seldom true, comes gently, with great humor.
