@dunskie They did kick ass, i -love- van halen but they NEVER progressed out of that one sound and their latest album is not nearly as good as the first van halen cd and their stuff from back in the day ; but it never moved forward ; listen to vai - THAT is progression ;a lthough nowere near as good as jimi hendrix ; who in my opinion progressed more in his short 3 year long career than i EVER saw van halen progress in their whole lives... no music lesson intended btw, lol O.o...

O.o... Honestly, Thats kinda sad and I would expect better. :-/.
No offense, but thats why van halen never progressed - if it did ;
They would be like vai now in terms of technical skill and progression.
They had what they needed, but it seems like they let a lot of their own personal stuff got in the way in the long run of things - Pink Floyd would have -expanded- their music if they would have utilized it

Everybody should remember: This is 2007...not 1978. These guys are in their mid 50's. I'm just thankful they still are touring. Wish Mike was with them. But you can't expect the same power and energy like when they were in their 20's. Don't be so fucking harsh!!!

are people really arguing about something dave said about pink floyd?...Really? Who gives a shit? Its Diamond Dave! i saw them back in '84...probably the best concert i've ever been to..man, Van Halen's music was the sound track to a lot of my growing up years...now admit it, friday night, cruising after the football game, did you put in a Van Halen tape or...pink... floyd? get fuckin real...man its just good party music to put all your fuckin troubles behind you for the night...Dave's the man
