@surfing636 The backmarker happens to be Martin Brundle on a Brabham. Senna was trying to lap him and Piquet when the colision occured.

80s to early 90s... very important the word "early", because the mid and late 90s were the worst, least competitive era of F1. From 1994 - early 2000s, you basically only had 2 great drivers, and one of them (Hakkinen) was driving a crap car most of the time.

@1:45 , Senna had lapped most of the field when he came up on this backmarker on the straightaway. You can see the speed difference was like a modern Red Bull on a HRT.
