  • Interesting photography and soothing voice over.

  • 1:00 - They told me I couldn't grow horses. HA!

  • This is actually pretty cool, even if it's fake

  • @dk212 Depends on how you define "city" (size) and "coldest" (average? peak?). According to Environment Canada: Winnipeg is the coldest city in the world with a population of over 600,000 based on the average night-time temperature during December, January and February, inclusive.

  • @rocketcarmike well its not the coldest city in the world. Ever hear of cities in Antarctica, Russia, Alaska? Same with the facts on sleepwalking, those are also bogus. I'm a big fan of the movie but he is trying to paint a picture of Winnipeg with how Winnipegers feel, and does an excellent job. This is achieved through distortion. Its like Hunter S. Thompson's writing, For the most part bogus used as a literary device.

  • @dk212 Except more is true than you might expect. It is indeed the coldest city in the world. They did in fact have "If Day", simulating a Nazi takeover of the city... The stuff that's not true is truer than fact -- it's how those seeds of fact felt, how the details are misremembered by someone who was a child there.

  • @Valsainte Ya it is an excellent quirky little film. Essentially everything in it is made up. All the locations and buildings are correct (I've lived here all my life), everything else is exaggerated or made up. :)

  • OK, I fell for it. What a dummy! Though I'd believe just about anything about Winnipeg -- LOL! The film's a classic and Madin's a genius.

  • @dk212 For some reason, I have the impression that the frozen horses in the lake was an actual event. The rest of the film is totally hysterical. :-)

  • @Valsainte do you think this really fucking happened!? cmon. lol Its a comedy film!
