@cmdrtebok There's lots of R&D going on involving practical robots, but the dancing/weaponry-based robots are more commercial; rich idiots buying shit they can use to entertain themselves, and especially defense contracts have a more profitable application. The rich can already afford people for less-than-minimum wage doled out over time instead of the cost of a chore-bot's high cost, and people who aren't rich wouldn't be able to afford them. Unfortunately it's all about the bottom line. :(
