Dr. Tapodhir Bhattacharjee was born in Silchar in 1949. His parents were from Beanibazar, Sylhet. He obtained Master degree in Bangla, Sanskrit, Linguistics and English Literature and a PhD from Jadavpur university, West Bengal, India.
He is one of the leading exponents on Rabindranath Thakur and Jibanananda Das. Dr. Topodhir has had more than 100 publications including 7 poetry collections. He is a prolific thinker and lrgendary icon in the field of literary theory and criticism accross Bangladesh and West Bengal.
Dr. Bhattacharjee is currently the Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar.
