Here is one of my contest entry's for monpetiteange13's unusual couple's contest. But I guess this couple really isn't to far fetched as some couples...I think.

Watching the movie you get the instant feeling that there was something between Madame Giry and Erik, especially with the history between them. They are the straight couple closest in age, or are suppose to be closest in age. In the book the phantom is actually older then Giry. But anyway, Giry was the first woman to save Erik and to have any feelings for him. I believe the way she looks at him all the time that she also was the first to fall for him but he doesn't share those feelings...or maybe he does.

They are just two birds together looking to be free.

Um, if I am correct in watching my own movie (O_O), that's actually not totally part of the movie. It was an extra scene/song created for the movie called "No One Would Listen". It's actually part of the extras on the DVD, but was never added to the movie. Hope that helps:).

really? Erik is older than Mme. Giry in the book? Which book did you read? The Leroux version? Cause I do believe that Giry is even older in the book and even though Erik is older in the book, he's only around 50. XD
