@Qiuvoweb I read somewhere that Mosrites don't keep their tune as well so I think we're ok with Dm380 haha. I've actually thought of replacing the tuners with some quality tuners like Gotoh same as what I have on the Fernandes, they are very good in keeping the tune, or another option is to replace the nut with a locking nut since the bridge is nearly the same as a Floyd Rose anyway...
I agree--DM 380s are a lot of bang for the buck in terms of sound and cosmetically (gorgeous finishes on the guitars) but they do need a decent setup to optimize them...also the tuners are less than average. I have a RS series Aria that has never been set up (hasn't needed it) Unfortunately, they are not made in Japan anymore, so those type of details get lost...fortunately, Korean guitars are becoming better....still not at the level of the Japanese Arias though.
@thajonester They do have great sound but the stock tuners are not great. Got mine NEW and still have the same issue with tuners so i can assure you that the tuners aren't the best and not because yours is a floor model. I wasn't happy with the factory set up as well, strings a bit high so a little bit of bridge adjustment did the trick for me.
These Arias have great sound--the pick ups really give it a nice vintage sound. The only thing I don't like in mine is the stock tuners aren't the best--they are decent, but do have the tendency to go out of tune more than my other guitars. Also, the setup from the factory wasn't the greatest (i did get a floor model, so maybe it was the abuse it took before I bought it.) Still, an awesome guitar at a reasonable price.
@TheNeonRabbit Thanks. To be honest, I don't have a clue what string gauge are on this guitar, I bought it from the shop, and played it straight away. I've measured the low E string with a caliper and it's coming out as either 10.5 and 11 so i guess you're right. I haven't changed the strings since i bought it, at least i know what to buy in case a string breaks. Thanks again.
Great tremolo control. Just the right amount of wobble. The "Ventures" muted picking was dead-on as well. I know it's a cheap Mosrite copy but that Aria sounds great. You using heavy strings?
