  • I am British - Patrick Dixon

  • good points. The personal touch is important, nobody really wants to sit in front of a "fix-all" device other than hi-tech designers. You made some great points

  • Thanks for the kind words. Patrick

  • True, but as cost of devices falls, most people own more and more of them, doing mainly one or two things with each. Patrick Dixon

  • What good is an interesting speech/lecture if it stops abruptly. I want to hear the rest of it.

  • ur originally south african or zimbarwian or is ur accent brittish?

  • As an industrial designer, I would like to see what he talks about really do happen but big businesses also have a say in this. One main reason why right now "convergence" is a buzz word is because it helps companies reduce cost and therefore keep more profit. If you have a product with a feature that most companies use then there probably is a large quantity of the parts which create that feature. Large quantity = reduced cost of production per part = wider profit margin.
