Mulle Muräna käkar sill med god aptit efter att ha vägrat äta en längre tid, tills färsk sill/strömming presenterades för honom.

Diskussion om hur man skulle få honom att äta finns på Saltvattens Guidens forum på följande adress:

  • thanks for all your help i just choose to go full salt and get a snowflake eel check out my tank

  • Allright, go for it! :-)

  • i understand you have kept one a live for a years what size tank is this in gallons please and what type of salt do u use i am about to get one what salinity is it

  • Hi!

In this film we just bought him, and we put him in a 29 gallon(US) tank. Soon we realized that it was waaay toooo small! After a while he stopped feeding totally!

After discussing the problem at a Swedish saltwater aquarium site, we came to the conclusion tha we had to buy a tank thats about 2,5 times his lenght! And the in that we had to consider that a full grown Gymnothorax tile is about 23,6 inches long. So we bought a 113,6 gallon tank to him. And then he started to eat right away!

  • We use "Red sea" salt for reverse osmosis.

Usally we keep the salinity between SG(SpecificGravity) 1.003-1.005.

Naturally the salinity can fluctuate in their natural habitate so we pending between the different salinitys.

What i understand they move out in full seawater when they get older.

If you not allredy havent seem them, check out my other films on him, at my channel!

  • how often do you feed him?

i feed mine every other day, and hes getting pretty big, i need to transfer him soon

  • Well we feed ours about every other day and he is growing every month. Right now i have to change the plastic tube, thats is his home, to a much larger one.

  • That tank was 104 litres, but we soon realized that it was way to small for him. After a couple of months he refused to eat and he kept doing that for several months.

Then we bought a bigger tank holding 430 litres and suprisingly he begun eating after 4 days in the new tank.

    Look for new films soon!

    Best regards.

    Markus
