Good stuff. I have a similar, but smaller set up....jam essentials to my mind...always tinkering with it. But, never on ONE stand!
Thanks for the ideas, from local Facebook group: Bangin' Away - Hand Drum Connection, Huntsville, Alabama.

@bowmoneydrums hope this helps...all of this stuff came from me not being able to find products to fit what i wanted...remo makes a mondo snare drum for use with hands, but they are discontinued...also there is a product coming out froma small company called nuedg which is a composite material hoop that has no flange, so that you can play ANY drum with your hands...

@bowmoneydrums 3) sorry about the block, it is a meinl handmate, which is literally just a round wooden ball on the end of a metal shaft, with some play in it that lets it move and strike the block...hooks on with a standard eye bolt like most accessory percussion parts.

@bowmoneydrums a few times, then around the stand a few times, then clipped it to the stand...they only make a sound in one direction, so there is no back and forth motion, just a sound when you actually strike it...the shakers are made square, so placing one shaker next to the other (they come in sets) makes a pretty large striking surface
-
@bowmoneydrums 2) like i said before with the shakers: they are literally just bungee corded to a stand...i wrapped it around a set of LP one shot shakers (the live version, which are MUCH louder than the studio version)

@bowmoneydrums the pressure of the snares bending (making the 90 degree turn from the inside of the shell to the surface of the head) hold them against the head really well...really kills any resonance, but it was the only way to make the snares "snappy" and get a good response even at low volumes.
here is my review: the foot cabasa is great for anyone playing hand drums...obviously, it gives you a way to keep fast beats without sacrificing either of your hands. Easier to play sitting then standing. Good build quality. With that said, it is definitely not like playing any other pedal instrument I have ever played. It absolutely requires developing a new technique to use it. The sound from it is great for live or recording. I would say buy a used one if you can find it!
