this was made in 1999, I was that kid at the end haha

@303kk Oh, yeah. Truly "a song of great social and political import."
-
-@pac26 Well, DUH! They are here to SELL MB's! They certainly don't care about Janis Joplin, even if they know anything about her. You'll notice, however, that they were careful not to name or make direct reference to her. Wise choice, considering her life style. No one unfamiliar with her work will identify the "That's it -- ha, ha, ha" at the end as quite possibly her own voice.
-
By making this commercial using this song, they completely contradicted what this song is really about. Thus, proving Janis' point.
-
Obviously that heroined out druggie's family was running low on cash, and Mercedes-Benz had the fix they needed.

FUCKING SHAME ON THIS !!!!
That YouTube, yet another big business, is profiting from counter-culture advocates decrying the use of Janis Joplin's counter-culture song in a counter-counter culture commercial is truly mind-blowing.
YouTube is the place irony goes to die.
