It doesnt happen often but here you have it. A bad example of cultivation in Markus own garden.
Of course he only planted the kiwi to show you how it is done the wrong way ;-)

Do not worry the sound at the end of the video was no gun shot, Markus survived it. It was a clacker because it was National Day in Switzerland.

    Yes it is always better to plant one male and one female. We know (and we also do sell them) that there are self fertile varieties, but you can never guarantee that those "self fertile" kiwi will bear fruits. There is always a risk you will have no fruits in a year.

  • did you plant a female and male minikiwi?
