My mother Karen Bruland Petersen Schmidt is on the Price Is Right television show with Bob Barker on Sept 9, 1972. She wins a 1972 Chevy Vega by correctly guessing the price of the car against another contestant. My sister Lisa Schmidt briefly can be seen in the beginning of this video. She is the blond with pig tails and glasses. My dad Carl Schmidt and I were in the studio next door for the show The Jokers Wild. Little did we know what was happening in the studio next to us. Enjoy, Allan Schmidt

  • I love her reaction. I watched it several times and love it every time. Thanks for posting.

  • @Hummingbirds2009 Thanks, unfortunately she passed away in 1983. It is the only video I have of her. Make it a great day !!!!

  • HOLY F***! Do you know how rare this is?!

  • This episode was #0032, aired September 19, 1972...and the debut of Double Bullseye (the game your mother played, which was only used four or five times altogether). What you've got here is something...well, rather rare. Rarer than I could possibly stress.

Do you just have this segment, or the whole episode? Personally, I'd like to see the whole show, or at least how your mother did in the Showcase.

Regardless, thank you for uploading this. :)

  • Back to Back one bids. That is rare!!!

  • Thanks again for sharing this fantastic gem. I love it!!!!

  • Very special to know your mom won a car, and it is now classic to see these episodes with all these people. I always wonder where a lot of them are today. I miss the old days of TPIR with Johnny Olsen and the original music. The new show really stinks, and I dont like Drew or his way or mumbling the games off with no excitement.

  • what ended up happening to the car?

  • @GSNSmashFan3 The third game that day, Double Prices, was played for a fur coat....and #0032D is NOT among the huge group of studio masters from Seasons 1-3 that began circulating a few years ago.

  • Sorry -- #0032D. This segment is from the *12th* episode, not the 32nd.

  • Wow! Thanks for sharing this rare gem with us!
