I like your videos!

Perfect speed for a newbie. Most other vids have silly disco music in the background that interferes with the instructions.
Good job A+++

GOOD ADVICE!
Using a variable rheostat and a isolation transformer for initial "turn on "of old radios ( or any valve equipment )-is a Safety precaution that is----OUTSTANDING!
In Australia we use 240 volts AC-SO the "peril "is about twice the effect.
Old Capacitors and "leaky "transformers -lurk?
The term HT is not used in IPods!
Believe me-if young kids get a a "touch "of HT-they will know it!
If they are in Water--------------Fatal?
Steve.

Very nice video. Exceedingly important safety information for the beginner and the experienced radio/electronic hobbyist. Your video makes very clear that safety must be first on your mind, always!!

Thanks for the plug.

I'm an absolute tube beginner but I've been in electronics now since x-mas. I've been reading like mad. I think I've lost it with this radio addiction. Yikes!

Yes, it is addictive. ALL electronics is derived from radio. You'll find yours studies to be worthwhile and beneficial.

Thanks. AAFR and I have been exchanging emails for over a month now. He knows his stuff. I respect that. I try to keep my vids very basic, for the absolute beginner,leaving the detailed, technical vids to AAFR. He's very good at it. Besides, he has the needed software to make better presentations.
