This is a song about a party like the one they had back in 1973. Mama Told Me Not To Come (Live) by Three Dog Night. Thank you for appreciating Three Dog Night as much as I do. To me, they will be one of the very best rock bands ever.

  • 2-5-2012. Ain't it fine, ain't it fine? Cory Wells is 69. Happy Birthday, Cory. Though I have never seen TDN in person, I saw Chuck Negron perform in July 1997 at the Fort Gordon Army Base near Augusta, GA.

  • "This is a song about a party like the one they had back in 1973."

Actually the song was written by Randy Newman for Eric Burdon's solo album in 1966

  • My very first concert when I was 9 years old! Three Dog Night at Universal Amphitheater in So Cal (when it really was an amphitheater). Seen them at least a dozen times since in the ensuing years.

  • Is this song also about LSD?

  • Man I thought my time to come home would never arrive. I was at Phan Rang with the 35th Security Police Squadron. I worked the midnight shift my whole year. They called Phan Rang "Rocket Alley" cause of all the rocket attacks we got. I could always tell when it was 5 a.m. The Southern Cross was straight up and down when it was time to get off. Thank all you guys who did your part.

  • @Senegal01

And tokin' on a number and diggin' on the radio. I was there '70 - '71
