Van Stephenson, and Dave Robbins were two of the three that wrote this song, and they were in the band called Blackhawk at one time. Van died a few year's back may his soul R.I.P, but may his music live on!!! peace to everyone!!!

Henry Paul still fronts the band BlackHawk with new members, Dave Robbins left the band for a solo/writing career and sadly, Van Stephenson passed away many years ago from cancer---So thats the demise of a killer band who toured back in the early 90s with Brooks & Dunn

@Miamihill1 Restless Heart did record Bluest Eyes In Texas and released it as a single but they did not write it. Bluest Eyes In Texas was written by Tim DuBois, Dave Robbins and Van Stephenson. Dave and Van are two of the three founding members of BlackHawk

Actually Bluest Eyes In Texas was recorded and released by Restless Heart. The song was written by Dave Robbins, Van Stephenson and Tim DuBios. Dave Robbins and Van Stephenson were two of the three original members of BlackHawk and had actually written many songs that Restless Heart recorded including Bluest Eyes In Texas, Let The Heartache Ride, and Big Dreams In A Small Town. A few years ago, BlackHawk started including Bluest Eyes In Texas in thier shows with Dave Robbins singing the lead.
