I'm not an animator. My background is in illustration, but my major is actually interactive design ("web stuff").
I took a Drawing In Motion class as an elective to push myself to do something difficult.
The technique used here is drawing 500 images by hand (on a light table) then using a programs like On Location, FlipBook, et cetera, to take images of each page and load them on the computer where A MIRACLE OCCURS and a short movie of dubious quality is created.
It is magic.
Hope you enjoy my feeble efforts. This one is the third and final assignment for the class. I draw quickly, but it still took about 25 hours to do.
Music: Jim Noir--My Patch
Ferret: Mr. Woozle, a.k.a. Epic Ferret Guy, LongFerret
Materials: A variety of blue PrismaPencils on onionskin paper stock
There are two more animations in this series. (I blame my carpal tunnel symptoms on this class.) The first assignment was a study based on Edweard Muybridge photographic motion studies, but YouTube ate it and turned it into a rainbow pixelated acid trip.
P.S. I now have even more respect for the skill and OCD compulsions of old school animators.

Yup. And I draw pretty quickly. Making the images consistent with each other, the tedium of drawing pretty much the same thing repeatedly, and dealing with motion / camera blur are the big challenges.

Thanks for the compliment, too.
