    Wow. This guy was a major star in the NINETEENTH century as well, he was really respected as a performer, very unique style. And yes he was 57, great career and a prominent american artist in that time of overt racism. Way to go, Bill! :D

    Of course. For some reason, quite a few of Shirley's movies were set in the Old South. They choose the stereotypical roles for black people of that era. I don't know what the movie company's preoccupation was.
