Ballade No. 2 in F Major, Op. 38, by Frédéric Chopin. Performed by Vincent Ip on March 9, 2011, in Jed Leshowitz Recital Hall, Montclair State University. Recorded and edited by Rodney Leinberger.
The Ballade begins in F major and ends in a different key of A minor. Most often people call it Ballade in F major, some musicians call it Ballade in F/A , and some musicians call it Ballade in A minor. (This description is a combination of input from Professor Mark Pakman and Professor David Witten of Montclair State University.) Professor Witten says, "I, and pianist Murray Perahia, and the Breitkopf & Haertel editor Johannes Brahms, have been the only three people in history to publicly (and in print) call this piece 'Ballade in A Minor,' but the three of us will suffer the ignominy of being corrected by the mass media. The search engine issue is why we will agree to this."
it's reeeeeeally amazing, your performance, and that's a beautiful music!
