is it so important to shave in the direction of the hair growth?

YES Men can exfoliate too. There's nothing wrong with men taking care of themselves.

I pulled out the hair but there's no pus! What do i do!!!!! The hair came out with a little pus stuck to it. But then there's nothing left to squeeze! Its just a red bump! I put some alcohol on it already. Will the bump go flat soon????? I am really anxious to find out!!!

Use a shaving gel instead of a cream? Many people used soap and cream for many years prior to the introduction of shaving gel and didn't seem to have such problems.
More useful advice would be to not use a modern multi bladed razor that cuts the hair below the skin level.
Although fortunately I have never suffered from ingrown hairs.

I usually only get them on my chin, but I once got one really close to my lip and it looked like herpes -_-

@iedhunter44 If you think it is something unusual, our advice would be to get it checked out by a professional. We wouldnt want to provide advice on a case by case basis in case it turns out to be wrong. Hope that makes sense.

@jonnybg14 Hey if you are worried that you might have something more serious than an ingrown hair, or even if you have an ingrown hair that you think might be infected, you should always get it checked out by a doctor. It can be embarrassing, but that is what they are there for and they will be very keen to help you out. If you dont get these things checked out, it might get worse.
