yeah but until google makes an OS thats better than pc (which cant be that hard) it will never fully take over Microsoft and become dominent. Google should make an OS, ide bet it'd be really cool.

@fancypenguins Yeah, but Chrome OS isn't too promising, their gunna need to buy out Linux, tweak it to be more google oriented and advertise it on the google home page.

Y? linux isn't really a company, its totaly open source. Also they have a beta out, it sounds like a great idea(find a video to see detailed idea) to have a browser based OS but you would need to do dual-boot just in case you don't have internet.

the only way that would work is if their OS is compatable with windows otherwise they will end up like mac, good for a stand alone pc but a nightmare to implement in a network environment with shed loads of windows pc''s

How? you have dual boot, the OS is already compatable with PCs. the only problem is you need internet access to run the OS so if you don't have internet you would need to have a second operating system to run. otherwise its a fine OS that runs on PCs and macs.

I probably wasn't clear about "network", I meant for commercial applications in the working environment. If google can tap into this market then they are onto a winner, good place to start with google wave :)

Wave isn't complex to *use*. It's complex to implement. Ray Ozzie is a software architect. He's talking about the infrastructure that goes into supporting Google Wave and the myriad complex protocols one has to understand to write a Google Wave client or server. That end of things is *really* complicated.
