The Art of War is a Chinese military treatise that was written by Sun Tzu in the 6th century BC, during the Spring and Autumn period. Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it has long been praised as the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time, and one of the basic texts on the subject.

The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy in the world. It has had a huge influence on Eastern military thinking, business tactics, and beyond. Sun Tzu recognized the importance of positioning in strategy and that position is affected both by objective conditions in the physical environment and the subjective opinions of competitive actors in that environment. He taught that strategy was not planning in the sense of working through a to-do list, but rather that it requires quick and appropriate responses to changing conditions. Planning works in a controlled environment, but in a competitive environment, competing plans collide, creating unexpected situations.

  • They are focusing too much one the Vietnam-war. Tell us about the book!

  • @death8dealer cracks me the fuck up in these comments. A third world country wins a war against the United States of America using Sun Tzu strategy and he says they failed the 'winning the war' test because they lost too may lives against state-of-the-art bombers, guns, communication, jets, and armor. Seriously NVA, try not to die so hard when you're covered in napalm, breathing in Agent Orange, and being shot at by artillery. I mean *fuck*, how hard can it be?

  • can some one tell me what the song was when the hippies came out with the signs please!?

  • @GambitFox79 how did this back and forth start i want to see the begining of this debate/

  • @downloadgoblin Stalin's statement on how easily human beings fail to fathom tragedy and death on a colossal scale, in no way, hurts or helps your opinion that the U.S. public lost the war. It's a cool quote, but logically disconnected from your conclusion.

Your blaming of the U.S. public on losing the war is also irrelevant. Neglecting public morale during war is about as wise as blaming bullets or medical supplies for losing the war because they didn't perpetuate themselves.

  • @GambitFox79 "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic."

    -Josef Stalin

The same thing applies to the Vietnamese. The US military won tactical victories across the board. The US public lost the war.

  • @VictumRoManius 2 retarded Nations ? you are from Norway, you need to go back to school, really lets start at Elementary level Dude, plz don't put muds on your people faces !

  • @spiderwickfreak This is the book and its teachings in effect. If you want to learn about the book. Then buy the fucking book and read it.

  • Where did Sun Tzu said about 'maintain the will of the people' in the book?

  • Silly user, Americans don't read.

  • @Johndoe2point0 Sun Tzu would have liked the strategy of the North Vietnamese. Sun Tzu did not even know what capitalism, democracy and communism was...

He did not know how many millions of people would die because two retarded nations were fighting because of some stupid ideology worse then modern terrorism.

  • They fact that they can't understand the morality of tet massacre,is reality coming back on them.It is what "useful idiots" fear, and are not good at predicting or defending against. This is why we stress loyalty so much.
