One of the most beautiful songs of Nico from her album THE END. Edited here, cause there was no more video footage for the full length. Video footage is from the german silent film KREUZZUG DES WEIBES (The Wife's Crusade), shot 1926, starring MALY DELSCHAFT, who is said to have been already casted as Lola for DER BLAUE ENGEL ( The blue angel ), before MARLENE DIETRICH finally got the role.

Wow - where did you get the movie. I would love to buy a DVD - we are living in the house where Maly Delschaft lived from the 1930s until her death in 1995. Just two floors down in the same flat. That's in Berlin-Charlottenburg. There is a plaque to remember Maly Delschaft next to the entrance of the building. Where can I get that DVD??? info (at) thenhaus (dot) com

Wow, the resemblance to Dietrich is unbelievable. However, Dietrich really was von Sternberg's first choice for De Blaue Engel, he's said so in his auto-bio and in a televised interview.
