My name's Issa, I'm 21 years old, and I'm from the Philippines. =)
This is my official entry for your giveaway contest. I apologize for not being able to make a proper video as I don't have access to a working camera right now. So yeah. :)

Additional info that I wasn't able to add to the video:

The research that I was talking about in the video was actually my college undergraduate thesis. It's entitled "Women and their Situation: An Exposition on Simone de Beauvoir's Existentialist Ethics in the context of Marthe Blau's 'Submission.' "

The thesis is basically a rereading of a novel about Sadomasochism using Simone de Beauvoir's Existentialist Framework. I must say that the experience was really amazing. Being able to study something that's not just for academic purposes, I mean, what's theory without practice, right? Another reason why I felt so empowered is: my panelists were both male and they even gave my dissertation a perfect score. I mean, of course, grades are not everything but, yeah the fact that my research makes sense not only to me, but also to others is just really awesome! Talk about empowering! :)

That is so awesome! This just goes to show how important education is in freeing ourselves from all these negative expectations.  The Second Sex is a great piece, I'm glad you got something from it as well! :)
