THIS IS PART 2. CHECK OUT PART 1 BEFORE WATCHING THIS VIDEO. (PART 1 IS HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxwOtEXDVqw )

*NOTE: Somehow the beginning of Part 2 got cut off. Between Part 1 and the beginning of this video, I simply chose File--Save As PNG to create a frame strip. *

Many people love customizing their computers, and changing the boot animation is just one way to do that. According to Microsoft, they will not support changing the Windows 7 boot animation--but that doesn't mean it can't be done!

In fact, thanks to the hacking skills of many people far more talented than I, it's now easier than ever to customize your Win7 boot animation and get rid of that boring Windows logo :P .

Here are the steps to create your very own custom animation. There are, of course, other ways to do this; I just find this method to be the easiest and quickest method.

And if you don't want to make your own animations, but you still want a custom animation you've found online, simply skip to 0:00 to learn how to use one.

Game Maker 8.0 (Trial and/or Full Version): http://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker/

Win7BootUpdater (32-bit or 64-bit; choose the one for your system): *SUPER EDIT* You MUST use CoderForLife's newest version. A recent Win7 update will brick your PC if you try using the old version, but the new one works fine. It can be found at http://coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot

Universal Watermark Remover (removes the text after applying a boot animation): http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/06/remove-watermark-32-bit-and-64-bit-u...

Example of a custom boot animation (using the Light Ring animation you see me making in the video!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjnvnz04WTY

  • can u plz post the link of ur own Bootupdater which u have shown in the video..

The boot updater downloaded frm the website is not working .

So plz post the link of ur own bootupdater software.....

  • @MrMike5130 The one in the video is not "my own". It's the same CoderForLife update, just an older version. Updates to Win7 have made it so that using the older version can easily break your computer, so I'd recommend just using the newest version.

  • @IceMetalPunk: The newest version is not working... When I double click it or when I open it as an administrator nothing happens, the program wont run. I had installed another copy of Win 7 to my hard disk(new one) , I tried to run the newest version(dwnled frm tat site) but it is not opening at all. I had an older version of tat win7bootupdater which is goin to run in my pc , but tat is goin to crash my system.

So plz can u post the links of "Win7bootupdater" which u have...?. :)

  • @MrMike5130 @MrMike5130 @MrMike5130 The one in the video is simply an older version of CoderForLife's. It was the newest version when I posted this video. I no longer have it because I updated to the newer version. The one you can find on CoderForLife's site is the one that I have, and it works fine for me. I don't know why it's not opening for you.

  • Is this safe? I'm afraid that I'll screw up my computer -.-

  • @Chester8991 As long as you use the latest version of the Boot Updater program from the coderforlyfe website, you should have no problems.
