Fall 1999 - Seems like ancient history now, but the THS TV Production pieces together its first non-linear video editor -- prior to iMovie, cheap digital video cameras, and burnable DVD's. This spring 2000 video constitutes the first major work completed, and was done on a beige Mac G3 with Adobe Premiere, an Aurora capture card, and an external 4 Gig RAID harddrive. It was shown for a banquet of Tempe businessmen who requested video to be played as part of their honoring five selected outstanding Tempe High educators -- in this year, being a maintenace man, a career counselor, an Art teacher who had previously been a Disney animator, an English as a Second Language teacher, and a Drama/English teacher. Several of the school library's tapes and things off of cable TV were captured in, and use was made of the TV studio's film chain loaded with blank, scratchy film to overlay on video to make it look like an old film. Renaissance is a program of student achievement operated by Josten's, Inc. At the time, the technology used to produce this video was fantastic!
