Chick Corea's 20 Children's Songs were designed to portray a contrasting set of simple moods. In the published preface, the composer states: "I wrote the first song in 1971 to convey simplicity as beauty, as represented in the spirit of a child."
Songs 1 -15 were composed for the Fender Rhodes piano and 16-20 for the acoustic piano, although any of the songs can be played on either instrument.
The ideas for the Songs are not treated in a 'developmental' way, but it is this approach that I find most refreshing ( a little like the 'Kinderszenen' by Schumann).

  • Nice. Thanks 4 that. I'm amazed that you don't have advertising on your wonderful planets clip. I'm wondering if it's because you used the John Barry score. Thanks again.

  • Thanks
