Some new recruits to the ancient sport of hurling share their views on this unique sport. Hurling combines the skills of baseball, hockey, and lacrosse in one high speed, high scoring, high octane sport that will blow you away. It's taking off in North America. Try it!

  • Great vid. California, West Coast is defo the place where this can flourish. Tough going here on the East Coast (Montreal), but it'll grow. Good luck to all the hurlers in North America, new or old vets to it.

& remember, hurling is for EVERYONE - no need to be Irish or remotely connected with Ireland. Hurling (like Irish football) is a SPORT - language, race & barrier free. Spread the word!

  • well..Im Polish and i play Hurling :D i <3 that sport :D

  • I took an American friend to see a hurling match in Limerick (Ireland) last year. She summed up the sport as "An egg and spoon race for psychopaths".

  • An American with a background in baseball would probably be good at striking the ball, hitting it far and accurately. It's like batting fugoes in baseball practice, only you're doing it running around. The other skills will take a while to develop. If you found an athlete who was good in both baseball and ice hockey, you'd have a good start. The hockey player would have good stick skills and be used to the physical aspects of the game. A great sport, but I'm too old now to take it up.

  • @EurofighterVsRaptor No foul whatsoever.

  • its so surreal to see someone in a GAA jersey with an america accent
