It's "Foam fractionation" and is a natural phenomenon only intensified during stormy/windy condition. Salt Water aquarists have been "mimicking" this for several years now to make it easier to maintain a Reef Tank. Organic Compounds (fish waste, decaying plant/animal matter etc) are removed from the water column by the wind in a "Foamy" matter. If this is fresh it will have some nasty smell but if left to "stew" for a while it will turn your stomach. Google it or look into "Protein Skimmer"

It's whipped up water mixed with algae and sand. That reporter is an idiot. It's a natural occurrence that happens every time we get a big storm be it hurricane or Nor' eastern. The more wind and churned up the water is the more foam it makes.

THAT REPORTER CREATED A MESS. THIS IS NOT HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEATH. I HOPE HIS BUTT GETS FIRED FOR BEING TOO STUPID TO REPORT NEWS. SEA FOAM IS NOT NEWS.

@twohseven Well I don't believe the News has any reason to lie. I'm not a conspiracy theory type of person. But that was the first explanation I had heard on a possible cause. And several bacterias occur naturally this way. Corexit would have been dissolved and gone by now.

And Ocean City officials looked into it. It's apparently a common occurrence when water and sand are mixed together really quick. And it would explain how sand dunes ended up on the boardwalk.

@lesatseaside Many things can create ocean foam. The reason it is affirmed to be raw sewage is the close proximity of the waste treatment plant.

FIrst off I wouldn't call anyone Stupid.... Maybe ignorant but not stupid. We as a human species have been so decieved by those that are in seeming control that we are very suspicious of anything like this, i.e. we think it has to be something they did because they have done much damage to all of Earth and her inhabitants. So I sure hope this is something natural. I want to believe it is anyway.
