@andysim232 I also have a CG-5 GT Advanced Mount.Operates very smooth and I don't hear my CG-5 GT Advanced as loud as this Video/Audio.My CG-5 GT Advanced sounds a lot quieter,can hear it past 4f.t away.Quite smooth & quiet, they must have used highier quality grease in my mount, Excellent Heavy Duty Equatorial GOTO Computerized Mount ATLAS 35lb. Tork and 47lb.,4 CounterWeights on my CG-5 GT Advanced with a CELESTRON EdgeHD C-11" Schmidt Cassegrain on top attached to my Mount CG-5 GT Advanced!!

just got a 14 inch celestron edge hd optics telescope for video and still imaging cant wait to get some good stuff and post my videos in a week or so look up iniana23 tracking pics/vids 14 inch edge hd and u can see soem of my videos thanks guys and ttyl..

wow why are all of your cg5 so loud mine is so quite and i have a 11 inch sgt on it i just got a cgem for the 11 inch and am puting 6 inch refractor on my cg5 but mine is nowhere near as loud as everyother cg5 ive seen or heard

I have this exact scope and mount. Often these mounts are loud when you first get them due to thick Chinese grease, and the fact they are often not well adjusted in the factory and so the gears bind somewhat. I dismantled mine and serviced it, re-greasing with decent grease, and re-adjusted the tension of the worm gears. Now sounds much smoother/quieter.

Cool, thanks for posting! I just bought the 8" version. Is the slewing really as loud as it sounds in this video? Have you had any problems with the tube sliding off the mount? The two screws that hold the tube make me a little nervous. Seems like if they got even a little loose the tube would come falling down.

@atcnick no really ithing you heard the noise because was on high speed slew(9) and very close when i make the video,no problems with mount

have an 8" XLT for my CG5. Its loud yes but you can hardly hear it past 10ft away. Its a nice solid mount.

@andysim232 yes is true but when tracking a objet is very smooth and i start rediscovering after some use .i love it and for my budget i love it more.
