You're right, Eisenhower did it for defense, and we all enjoy the pleasures of jumping on the interstate, traveling coast to coast.

However, the congressman is just comparing it to what Eisenhower did because it IS an infrastructure project, and he was just laying a concrete example (no pun intended) of what a national infrastructure project looks like. he no where makes the argument that Eisenhower did it to stimulate the economy

National highway system?? WTF? Eisenhower didn't do it for stimulus, you idiot! And it certainly didn't stimulate economic recovery, either. Don't compare your silly stimulus and 'infrastructure' spending to Eisenhower's highway project.
