I always did think Malon was the most desirable love interest for Link. Since this game was way more complex than any Zelda games prior, I thought you might actually be able to choose. Instead it just turns out to be a G-rated Tenchi Muyo. Those wacky Japanese!

Yeah, she does seem to fit well. Zelda and Saria are just far too preoccupied with their own lives. Malon, however, is just a simple little ranch girl. Doesn't have to "focus on her career" or any of that nonsense. :P

Think about it...

Navi says LISTEN.... LISTEN.... LISTEN.... LISTEN... Until you listen to her, and then tells you basic stuff that is the same for every game EVER. The owl is not there all the time, and he just gets things over with quick, and tells you things that would be useful if you had no clue what to do.
