I did the RMS course, a complete waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Over the week you get about 45min in the truck. The part you see when they are coming out of the yard and around the trees is always done by the trainers, you get to be one of the spotters on the ground with the two- way. This course only makes you a trainee driver and can be done anywhere. A mining company would be more interested in someone with semi experience than RMS experience.

Is this about the same in reference to an articulated dump truck?

having your HR licence is usually a must when applying for a dump truck job though most dump truck jobs will requir previous experience in driving dump trucks. this is where the dump truck course comes in.

Ar you prepared to sit in a truck 10 hours a day?
Anyway yes the money is good but it is hard to get in, safety could be a reason as if you have no experience, you may get in with luck. Do your research google and call recruitment agencies and ask even. If your in there working as a cleaner or TA you get to meet people and oportunities can arrise that way. $3000 spend it on lessons to get your HR it will be

So commitment. Call and constantly email or go in to places. I prefer been outside but i did do this course before i went full time and basicly they do want experience.

It is fun to give one a drive but its like if you pay someone to give u a driving lesson then go in to get your drivers licence they wont just give you one.

@red2lucas its not about what goes on in the mine. its about doing some training to help you get in. thats what people want to know. would you be better off applying for a dump truck job in the mines with this training in your resume or without it? that is what we want to know.

@OZZYSCRACKMEUP All you need is your HR license. IMO the dump truck course is a waste of time. I know a lot of people who have scored jobs with only a HR. If you have already done it there's no harm in putting it on your resume. Mind you when I was looking for work there was an average of about 5 jobs on seek every day. Now there's about 25 per day.
