  • I'm just reading John Toland's "Rise & fall of the Japanese Empire" & the Japs were actually outnumbered, starving, with no provisions & badly equipped. Kavaguchi didn't even know there was a ridge in front of Henderson field, but he thought they couldn't to go around it, 'coz they'll all die of starvation & sickness. Japanese soldiers named Guadalcanal Starving Island & they would lick the palms of their hands to taste the salt before dying. Respect 4 the Corp, but the Nips fought against odds.

  • Think before you post. There's no way anyone would know what point you're trying to make.

  • why do they have to shout while attacking? it looks dumb to me. it's like "hey im over here! shoot me, c'mon shoot me! haha!

  • The battle for the Ilu was not stopped only by the frontal defense there. In fact some positions were overrun and taken back by marine counter attack. Simultaneously a marine battalion deployed to the flank and rear of the Japanese assault and driving them en mass onto the exposed beach where they posed eternally in doc photos.

  • @prodigiousbastard Lol! The LAST thing the Americans were, were animals. But sooner or later someone's going to bring up atom bombs so I just got there first.

  • @Noodles37UK What? I never said anything about the bomb, the Japanese just thought we were barbarians.

  • @prodigiousbastard Don't agree with the Bomb, but what could America do? I wouldn't like my youngest brother drafted to do street fighting in Tokyo.

  • @Noodles37UK Animals? The Japanese thought we were the animals!
