Jesus always protects me because I asked Him to. That is the very essence of being a Christian, that we don't just go our own way...We must trust in Him. That's what saved me from my addictions...Willpower did not! If we are so self-sufficient, why did a Savior come to us? Well, I do need this Savior, to save me from myself! Okay!??! @lemonde1984 We are already free. We have the freedom God alone can give and a peace in our hearts and minds that no amount of anything can bring us. I know that you feel strongly otherwise and I pity you. I truly do. It's our choice. God lets us choose life or deny it. There are so many unfortunate people, such as your self, lost in the dark. Good works can't bring anyone to Heaven. Life can't just "be gone". After we die, we go to Heaven, if we have chosen life, or Hell if we chose to denyit
