Deputy Commissioner (Field Operations) Dave Owens has warned everyone of the consequences of alcohol-fuelled misbehaviour during the summer months.
The two-minute broadcast tells the story of 'Michael' and how a series of bad decisions whilst intoxicated changed his life forever.
"The NSW Police Force has conducted a series of campaigns to reduce alcohol-related crime and related anti-social behaviour, and this message via YouTube is another way to inform the community how a few drinks too many can impact on your life -- and the lives of others," Deputy Commissioner Owens said.
"I'm appealing for some common sense to be shown - when you go for a drink with friends to celebrate over the summer holiday period, take responsibility for your actions."
"Police don't want to spoil your festivities, but we will be out in force to ensure everyone has a safe and hassle-free summer."
"We need your help -- and you can assist police and other emergency services by drinking in moderation and behaving responsibly."
"Don't use alcohol as an excuse to become involved in anti-social or violent behaviour," Deputy Commissioner Owens said.
