Kirk rips out a searing solo playing with Finis Tasby. The Tweed amp behind Kirk is a 1957 Bassman replica that I built. Kirk was trying it out that night. The amp featured original 1950's Jensen P10R and P10Q speakers, and is now owned by ShangriLa studio in Malibu. Mark Knopfler recorded his recent album "ShangriLa" there. Mark purchased an amp from me in 2005.

  • Kirk sounds good, but the audio quality of the video is too crappy to really appreciate the tone of his amp.

  • The original video of this I shot is on Digital 8 and looks pretty good. U tube requires maximum compression to upload and generally looks like crap.

  • AWESOME!

I'm pretty sure we'll hear more of this dude later on.

  • BluesWilliam; Thanks a million for this SUPERB film.

Whatever the quality this film is essential. Infact it adds to its authenticity. This IS the Blues at it's most spontaneous. Kirk's a KILLER!!

  • bluzmama; I agree with you. He is one of most explosive players i've ever seen Jimi Hendrix. Kirk's finger vibrato is dynamic and his feel, tone and choice of notes is first class. He doesn't play many cliches but throws some jazz runs in.

  • You're saying Sam Myers is bad? I don't agree. He's one of the best. Of course Anson Fundenburg has go a new vocalist after he left the band and later passed away. I've watched them with the new vocalist live, and although he can't be as good as Sam Myers, he was not bad.

  • Kirk gets a 10 for his playing, the singer sucks. Ditch him Kirk. Other good guitar players with bad singers: Anson Funderburgh, Joe Kubek. Please, Kirk, don't fall into that category.

  • I love Kirk's playing so much I asked him to sign my Fender Telecaster. He's one of the hottest (young) guitarists to grace the Blues scene today.

  • hell yeah Kirk!!!

  • Kirk's the best thing to happen in Blues music whilst the rest of the World is preoccupied with rap/hip hop and Britney Spears. Kirk is blessed with talent & imagination. I wish him a very long and prosperous career.
