First, close iTunes, then..

Locate the Hosts file, navigate to...

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

After you are there, open hosts, and delete everything on the bottem, mainly the gs.apple.com hosts. Then open iTunes, and try to restore now, :)

  • LADIES AND GENTLEMEN HERE IS MY SITUATION:

i have iphone 4g that i bought it on ebay:

1- i can not legally unlock it because its from AT&T and they do not dont that

2- i can not unlock it with gevey sim because my bb is 4.11

3- i can not return it back because the seller do not accept it

4- i can not sell it on ebay because shipping in my country to US will cost me 85 $

5- i can not sell it in my country because no body want it...

and 6- i can not downgrade it because i always get the error3194

  • @LalaRanj1 I'll buy it from you. :)

  • Hi, thanks for the video. I am in Lagos Nigeria. I did try the steps but didn't get my phone restore. I run on a ios 5.0.1 firmware 05.16.05. It is AT&T carrier IPhone 3Gs and I have tried to unlock so I can make use of it with the Nigeria carrier but it wont allow me. I was advice to downgrade back to 4.3.3

  • @Johnshell19 The only way to downgrade is to have SHSH saved on your device, this video has nothing to do with downgrading. This is for fixing the error 3194 in iTunes.

  • Whoa, the like/dislike bar looks like a lightsaber! :D

  • help me .....min iphone 3gs...4.2.1....dont have the bottom part of the hosting thingy when i open it ...and it still wont restore or update...

  • WARNING!!!!!!

Do not do what this video tells you to! I did this and it let me update, but it messed up my internet and ruined my computer!!

  • my issue was that apple was not signing my custom redsnow firmware (had flashed it with the WRONG model firmware and was bricked!) so was forced to restore a 3gs to ios 4.1 that apple IS still signing.

then was easy, used redsnow for JB and ipad baseband so could ultrasnow.

  • @SkillfulKevin the hosts file at C:/windows/sistem32/drivers/etc/hosts wasn't giving me permission so i right clicked on hosts, went into properties and under the security tab i edited the SYSTEM/Administrators/Users permissions by clicking edit then all the Allow checkmarks.

    hope that helps!
