Chant group Psallentes consists of six professional singers, presenting a vivid performance of fifteenth century chant. Here you can listen to the antiphon 'Mater Patris' while watching the same in the original manuscript (E-Bc 911, which is a cantorale from Girona). This is from the cd 'Llibre Vermell de Montserrat' RIC 260. Buy the cd at www.ricercar.be - other discs available as well. Check it out!

  • Incorrect. A heretic, as defined by Catholic teaching, is a person with the knowledge of the Truth as defined by God through His Church and chooses to deny it for an alternate teaching. By definition, Jesus couldn't be a heretic, since He was God, and thus the Truth incarnate; it would be impossible for him to contradict Himself.

  • It's not the place to talk about religion. It's the place to talk about music.

  • @MrUpo which was made solely for praising God. It goes hand in hand.

  • Interesting. I'm trying to make an arrangement for some chants that came from the Inchcolm Antiphoner - now that's gonna be a bit of a challenge.

  • May you each find your path to enlightenment a rewarding and fulfilling one.

  • These arguments as to whom is right about God, have happened for millenia and are still happening in the world today. In the dawn of this new age of enlightenment maybe we should embrace everyones thoughts and ideas as unique. Everyone on this earth are realising their place in it and with God, in their own way. Those that choose not to believe, that is ok too. We are all the same flesh and blood and respect is a gift we give to each other.
