"Evo-creationism"?! Give me a break :-) What gaps in the record. You need to read Richard Dawkins books. Start with the "Greatest Show on Earth". He talks plenty about fossil records there. You could find other books on the topic, but Dawkins is good at writing popular literature and makes great effort to avoid scientific jargon as much as possible,

Thousands of scientists agree on the modern methods of dating. Some chemical methods use isotopes to date back billions of years such as thorium-232 or uranium-238, other methods use other isotopes for dating of much more recent objects, such as carbon-14, or aliminum-26 . You just need to read more. Mr. Dawkins understand this well. He has a chapter on it in his book "The Greatest Show on Earth".

I only comment on this because I read the comments and see what interesting thoughts Mr. Dawkins has imaginated. The comments I read make me wonder have you people ever relaxed. just enjoy life. Dont worry about things you will never understand and whatever you belive in whatever religion you are that is your desicion and I will RESPECT it and for someone to question how you believe they are confused aout theyre religion themselves or theyre confused about themselve. immiturity

Richard Dawkins is one of those people that would like to believe he can figure out how we were created, hes not and no one ever will. time is slowely passing on and that will be a problem for future evolutionist because the more time passes on the harder it is to evolution anything. And who knows how long everything has been around and for someone to say they know how long the earth has been around, they are very wrong. they will NEVER know... NEVER

Nobody really knows about anything and some people want to believe in something we all die and babies are born, you cannot argue on something neither side have any substantial proof/evidence whatever you want to say. arguements usually have an end result someone is right and someone is wrong, one person has more proof/evidence than the other, but the creation of man will never be figured out, we can only fathom a couple thousan years because of fossils and etc., dont dwell on it... Live life!
