Jeff Ardron explains ocean acidification

A simple, straightforward explanation of ocean acidification, the change in ocean chemistry caused by excess carbon dioxide in the air, which in turn comes from the burning of fossil fuels. Jeff is a scientist with the Marine Conservation Biology Institute (MCBI). This was shot in Barcelona at the IUCN World Conservation Congress.

Bigger picture: 1 billion people rely on fish as their major source of protein. Imagine a world without fish. . .

Clearly in this 1minute short answer the scientist means "I know from science that there will be many bad effects but so diverse and wide-ranging that I can't 'imagine' the full,complete effect" is what he clearly means.

If there was a chemical added to your house's drinking water by an industrial company, you would never, ever say, "let's not act until we know fully, completely, 100% information about it"

Even bigger picture: The ocean becomes unable to function as a major carbon sink, the atmosphere heats up due to an excess of anthropogenic out-gassing of greenhouse gases, of which the majority have no where to go, thus are retained in the atmosphere. Then over some period of years GAIAs climate adaption methods (see daisy world) are no longer able to sustain life, and we all die. Longer still, and the earth turns into another venus like planet orbiting the sun.

the message is clear, can´t copy what the ~~cows~~ wanted to say.. an inspiring video that should warn everyone who still have not realised what has been happening.. think in broader picture!! it´s all linked together and we´re making it all more and more messy.. imagine your kids and their kids are swimming in the acidic ocean and start melting down in front of your eyes... the clock is ticking!!

He knows WHICH would be the results of the ocean acidification...he just says that he doesn't know WHAT RANGE the would be of!..Namely how much disastrous will be these results!..
