  • Thanks to this video, I looked out my window and finally identified the mysterious tree that's sprung up in my garden on its own in the past few years: it's a neem tree! :-)

  • @vulagimail Her reason for not taking me to the doctor is because she and her fucked up Christian religion believed that doctors were pagan and satanic because they have a picture of a snake on their sign. Since all christians are christians whatever she did because of your cult is a reflection of all of you. I know you like to push off your horrors on to others so I'm not buying your plea from your book of contradictions.

  • @vulagimail "It is very unfortunate that you think that "religious people dont take medication'

Tell that to my fundamentalist mother who almost killed me by never taking me to the doctor. Once my gums were bleeding, my mouth swelled, I almost couldn't breathe and another time when I had serious bronchitis I almost died Both times all she did was sit around with her hands folded talking to herself. Good thing my friends gave me some extra medication both times or else I'd have died.

  • @GodKillerAtheist It is very unfortunate that you think that "religious people dont take medication". Just 1 point to prove there is no basis for your assertion, the Bible describes a tree whose leaves are "for the healing of the nations"- REV 22:2. Inspite of whatever "bone/s you have to pick" with those who "believe in God", He made ALL things in the first place, so doesnt it only make sense that He will use it for whatever and however He chooses?

  • Brilliant! Thanks Al Jazeera for reporting about this, and thanks to the amazing scientists in Senegal.

  • For sure we need stories like this. No one else reports this, they don't care.

  • Al Jazeera should run a series on similar innovation and advanced concepts coming out of Africa. The interest would be great as there are many projects like neem project in senegal that could solve many global problems, that are not getting reported!

  • I never knew about neem, I'm going to try using it now. I love the part where the university professor blasts the scientific approval process. Thank you, People & Power.

  • there are quite a lot of people in Senegal and West Africa who know about neem as a malaria remedy, but it's rare to find people who use it as a prevention. The grandmother of a friend of mine used to give it every morning to the children, but you don't find many people using it. We need to know exactly how to use it, what dosages etc. The experiments have already been done, both in the lab and in the village. Someone needs to collect it and publish it.

  • Well done (again) Eugene Ulman! Congratulations on this important story, something we need to know about, especially in West Africa.
