1952 Willys Aero 2 Door sedan

Now here is a car you DON'T normally see! It was produced by Willys Motors from 1952 to 1955. Everyone knows Willys for the Jeep...this was their modern car! It had pleasant styling in my book..and a touch of Cadillac with those tailights and modest fins! However, at this point Willys was under the control of Henry J. Kaiser, and he decided it and the Henry J, Kaiser and Frazer had to go. It was a shame!

Very nice . My great Grandfather worked several years for Willys the teens to 1924 then he went to Packard . My grandfather told me about being a kid and going to Willys and watching his father draw out the cars on large boards in a design room .

@Rebelxfree Willys certainly had a proud automotive history..and when you consider it still survives, indeed an amazing history. It's amazing that your grandfather could see those drawings, even as the work of his father! Later, in the 50's and 60's there was a lot of security in cars' design studios! @compukenny Hey, Ken! So true....it was Hudson's turn to develop a "compact" car". I feel the Aero was a better attempt..the Jet was expensive, and really rather small...turns out too small and expensive for survival in the marketplace. Meanwhile, Hudson could have used the money they spent in developing the Jet on their mainstream automobiles! Thanks! :) Jack

@Angelo32516 Yeah...Henry J. Kaiser sold the dies for Kaiser and Willys for manufacture in Brazil, after he had ceased production of them in the U.S. They were really nice cars..they deserved to live for many years! Thanks for the comment! :) Jack

Willys cars were quite popular and had a very good reputation prior to the was. Nice to see one of the post-war cars in such great shape.

Those were nice cars. My friend Hugh Duffy had one of them.. A green one in Endicott NY.
