You know what I've noticed? People who come back from their vacation calling Germans rude are the same people who can't even say thank you in German and expect everyone to speak perfect English.
yes many times, all i was saying was that they come accross as 'stiff' like zeusername said. rude may not be the right word to use, stiff is more what i was trying to explain.
I'd say Germans (can) tend to be rather stiff .. it's just, well, a kind of exagerated politeness, I guess. They're definitely not rude, generally speaking.
